COLORADO - NEW CDPHE REPORT ON AIR QUALITY ENFORCEMENT IN COLORADO

CDPHE releases new report on air quality enforcement, launches new email service for future updates

The CDPHE Air Pollution Control Division has released new ways to learn about previous enforcement actions and to stay informed on future updates. The division published a new five-year benchmark report covering previous air quality enforcement actions and penalties. It also launched a new email service to share updates moving forward.

Five-year air quality enforcement benchmark report

The division’s new benchmark report summarizes five years of the division’s previous enforcement actions, penalties, and trends. It covers federal fiscal years from October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2023. The report shows the total, average, and median penalties for air quality violations have been increasing over time.

Starting in 2025, the division will publish an annual report each year covering air quality enforcement actions for the previous federal fiscal year. The new benchmark report provides perspective and context for future annual reports.
