COLORADO - HOS EXEMPTION FOR GROCERY

CWPMA Note: We want to thank the CSP for being responsive to the needs of our retail grocery and Cstore members  by granting this exemption.  While the run on supplies before the storm was unfortunate, and likely unnecessary the fact is that it did happen and carriers are scrambling to keep shelves stocked.

Please see the attached letter and make sure divers utilizing the exemption carry this letter in cabs.

"Due to the intense winter storms in the eastern slope communities of Colorado, there is a need for additional grocery supplies.

I have granted a temporary exemption from 8CCR 1507-1 IV A Part 395, Hours of Service for transport haulers grocery supplies. The temporary exemption would be effective immediately and stay in effect for 48 hours, expiring on Tuesday, March 16th at 10:00am.

The exemption shall apply only to haulers who are providing grocery supplies to retail markets, and drivers shall not exceed 16 hours of drive time per 24 hour period."
