FMCSA Reminds Motor Carriers of the 3G Network Dec. 31 Sunset Date
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is reminding motor carriers that mobile carriers are shutting down their 3G network on Dec. 31, which may impact motor carriers if their electronic logging devices (ELD) rely on a 3G network. Any ELD that requires 3G cellular connectivity to perform its functionality will no longer be in compliance with the technical specifications in the ELD rule after the 3G network is sunset.
