COLORADO - MY ENDORSEMENT FOR HUGH MCKEAN

Today I want to direct your attention today to follow my family in our support of the current House Minority leader Hugh McKean.

The reasons the statewide favor ban bill died are myriad but I wanted to highlight that when we asked for the House Republicans assistance, Leader McKean was there for us.

He also stood up for families across Colorado and brought the Houses' attention to the 179 (B) waiver discussion.  Hugh took the time to learn about what reformulated gasoline means in Colorado and the devastating impact it will have on families, especially those who can least afford it.

The environmental agenda in Colorado is anti working family - they are actively trying to take good paying jobs away from families and make everything more expensive for all of us.

This sounds like a talking point but the data isn't wrong -  Our industry has reduced VOC emissions and NOX emission by over 40 percent since 2010 despite population growth and car registration increases covering almost 800,000 more people the environmental agenda opposed extending the nations best environmentally protective  PSTF program.  The environmental agenda opposed a clean diesel programs that would have reduced emission by the equivalency of 50 trucks per replacement.

McKean took that message to the floor on an air emission bill and convinced 32 bipartisan votes that we can find a better way. Nothing happens in a vacuum and CWPMA will be reporting on all of these representatives that stood up for mom's driving to soccer practice and tradespeople getting to work.

The far right part of the Republican party has primaried Hugh for trying to find ways to work across the aisle.  I want to be clear the bloc of people from either party willing to coss the aisle to work on hard issues should be on the endangered species list.

We can't afford to lose one of them. People who care enough to see where I invest my families money politically will note I support  people from all sides - I have one condition - they have to be willing to listen and be willing to work in the middle, not all the time, but on issues that are important to the people that support my family. Please refer to the note below from Minority leader McKean.

Hugh is one of these people...For your consideration.

Hello Friends,

By the time you read this it will be a new day. The 73rd Legislative Session will have adjourned sometime near midnight on Wednesday, May 11. But as I write this, I am on the floor of the Colorado House of Representatives. We are down to the wire on day 120 and still working to find a solution to the very challenging and devastating fentanyl crisis.

This week alone we have worked through the night in an effort to reduce the damage inflicted by Democrat policy in our state and we have had several wins.

Our job is to be the voice for millions of Coloradans who often don't live close to Denver and Boulder. Just last night, as we were finishing out the session, the Senate President from Boulder said, "The House Republicans are being terrorists about collective bargaining in the House based on demands from Republican counties."

Isn't that our job, to speak for the folks who live out where the wind blows? Isn't our job to be the voice for the state as a whole, not just the counties that share our political views? When we debate for Colorado are we "terrorists"?

Even though the session has come to an end, my job is far from done. I will continue the work of the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, ensuring that we take back seats in the House this fall. I promise you, no one will work harder to represent Loveland, the House Republicans and Coloradans, but I need your help. Your investment of $20, $50, up to the maximum of $400 will help secure my own re-election in a primary this June so that I can continue this important work.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is a critical moment for our state and for my campaign and we can't take it lightly. I'd be honored for you to join this fight alongside me.

Thank you,

Hugh McKean
